FLU Vaccinations
The Bullitt County Health Department wants to remind the community the best way to prevent the flu is to get a flu vaccination each year. Bullitt County Health Department and VaxCare are partnering to offer flu vaccinations on a walk-in basis at the health department on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesdays 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Fridays 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.1. Please note Bullitt County Health Department has partnered with VaxCare to provide flu shots. The billing process will be handled by VaxCare.
2. Please bring your insurance cards. For non-insured patients or patients who do not have coverage with any insurance company, flu shots will be $23 and $45 for high-dose vaccine.
3. All children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If you are a guardian, you must bring guardianship papers with you. We are required to copy guardianship papers on site before the flu shot can be administered.
4. Please wear a short-sleeved shirt for your convenience.

Bullitt County Is Selected as a HeartSafe Community--
FRANKFORT, KY (July 25, 2013) – The Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) announced today that Bullitt County is the next Kentucky county to earn the designation HeartSafe Community, an honor set aside for communities that have met criteria to better respond to cardiac arrests. Bullitt County joins Ashland-Boyd, Warren, McCracken, Shelby and Jefferson Counties on the growing list of counties working to be healthier and safer places to live.
HPV Vaccine
The BCHD is offering the Gardasil HPV vaccine for boys & girls ages 9-26 years of age. The cost of the HPV vaccine is only $7.00, regardless of insurance status. (We do not file your insurance)
The HPV vaccine is a series of 3. You receive your first one, 2 months later your second one and 4 months later your third one. Please call for an appointment 502-955-7837. Bring a copy of your immunization record with you for your appointment.
Our goal is to reduce cervical cancer disparties in KY by preventing Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection.
